I got this in the mail today:

Popcorn used to go to Animal House in SM City Bicutan when I still lived in Parañaque. Dr. Askie was his vet. The staff there became my friends, and they would always take good care of him. But I guess I wasn’t able to inform them that he is already gone. 🙁

Popcorn would have been 3 years old last August 10. He passed away November 8 last year, due to feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), a deadly disease in cats caused by the feline coronavirus. I was devastated and heartbroken, and pregnant with Kobe at that time. My husband would always tell me that Popcorn gave his life for Kobe’s safety, especially since I had a difficult pregnancy. We all loved Popcorn, and he even had fans online from around the world on his IG account (@iampopcornthecat).

Since it is #caturday, I would like to dedicate this post to my baby cat, Popcorn. Though he was a “masungit” cat, it was so rewarding to love him and take care of him because like most cats, he made us “earn” his affection.

I’d also like to say my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dexter of Vets In Practice (VIP) Katipunan and all the staff there who took care of Popcorn when he was sick. They did what they could to make Popcorn comfortable ’til the end.

I miss you so, my baby corn, your paw print will be in my heart forever… 🙁
