What’s Up, 2020?

Yes, we are expecting an ECQ baby!

It’s been a long while since my last blog entry, and today I commit to myself to be more active in blogging. A few updates: I am now 22 weeks pregnant with our third child; my 1st born son Kobe is now 5 years old, and the 2nd one Milo is now 2. We are all still under MECQ (Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine) in Metro Manila due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I don’t need to talk about this – the whole world is experiencing it right now. I have been keeping busy at home – trying to fix some things here and there, trying to make content for my YouTube channel (Acoustic Princess TV), doing Facebook Live gigs and playing the guitar again, cooking again, and of course keeping up with my two boys.

So going back to my blog, I am planning to write about topics that I have experienced first-hand – as a mom, a wife, and a woman. Hopefully some of it will help you – but mostly I am doing it to chronicle or document my thoughts and feelings, before my mom-brain forgets them. I was planning to keep a journal this 2020, but then the year just imploded and I was feeling down the first part of the lockdown. I was looking forward to three major trips abroad this year and of course they are all cancelled now. The silver lining is that we got a surprise baby (we were planning for Milo to be the last one) and amidst all the uncertainty and fear, our family has something to look forward to and work hard for.

So, can I still say “cheers to 2020?” I say yes, because this year has thought us to be grateful for things that matter the most, and because yes, there are still some things we ought to be thankful for, no matter how small.

Let me share to you one of the songs that resonated so much to me during this time, “With A Smile” by the Eraserheads. Here is my YouTube cover:
